We are pleased to share an important update with our Leavenworth area community. The Leavenworth Mosquito Control District (LMCD) has a Board member opening for a two-year term. We meet an average of once per month at our office or on Zoom. We set a yearly budget, review and approve program expenditures and set policies and procedures for the safe and effective treatment of mosquitos.
Our licensed team members are tasked with hand treating known and new areas of mosquito activities during spring through the fall time using larvicides that are harmful only to mosquito larva and harmless to other aquatic organisms, mammals, and humans.
To be on the LMCD Board, the successful candidate must live inside the Leavenworth Mosquito District either in the town of Leavenworth or the surrounding area found on the “Where Are We” page at www.LeavenworthMosquitoControl.org .
